Girls and Beats: What’s on the Radio
Prisca’s remix looks at popular culture portrayals of women as sexualized girls. Source material includes commercials, music videos and excerpts from a broad range of music genres.
Transformation
My first remix using final cut pro.
Keith’s remix uses source material from the Transformers movie trailer cut to the logos and branding symbols of the corporate system . The video juxtaposes the threat of robotic alien invasion to the corporate invasion occuring in everyday life.

The Genesis of Obesity
This is my final version of the piece called “The Genesis of Obesity”.
“The Genesis Of Obesity” is a video that portrays the predatory tactics that fast food corporations use when marketing to the consumer, specifically youth. In watching this video you will go through a storm of images and sound that are meant to reflect the style that is used by these multinationals when flooding the media with their images.
Furthermore, it is a commentary and reflection on the direction that Big Media has taken and it’s role in portraying, and therefore transforming, pop culture.

Less Talk More ‘Raq
A remix by Zane “The Limit” Scheuerlein. The source material includes the song Less Talk More Rock cut to video from YouTUbe of Bush, Cheney and other Republican officials responsible for the Iraq War atrocities. Documentaries about the Iraq War and the Palestenian conflicts are used to contrast the indifference of politicians to the suffering of the people in the Middle East.

Making Progress
I’ve begun editing my piece after laying down the music track in Final Cut yesterday. It took a while to download all the various apps that are neccessary to rip, convert, and process footage from YouTube, and then importing, chopping, and orgainizing that footage. I have the introduction completed with plenty of footage of our nations leaders goofing off and large collection of video of the military in action. What I’m missing is footage of the people and cities of Iraq as well as footage of protests and riots from the Middle East. I hope to collect most of that tomorrow and get into the arduous process of syching video and music. it will require massive amounts of very quick cut since the music (which can be seen at http://youtube.com/watch?v=BVIhIc_DfaM) has a very rapid pace. If I can pull off all 4 minutes of it I will be very pleased but I may have to cut some of the faster sections since it can become ridiculous to edit. I’m very excited to see it taking form now and so far it’s mirroring the images in my brain when I concieved it. Please feel free to comment with a link if you have any suggestions for footage I could or should use.
My new ideas
well, its no longer going to be about “at risk youth”. its seems that our ideas keep changing and changing.
so our new idea/topic is about police brutailty. we’re going to have clips/pictures of testimonies, abuse, and the police. I think its going to be very interesting because we’re using the song “Beat it” by Michael Jackson.
Silvia’s Remix
Well I decided to actually make the song “dance with the devil” into a some sort of story starting of in images of gangs, drugs, and kids in the streets and from there i am putting images of the effects that gangs do to a individual which would be deaths pictures and prison pictures. But the last part would be images of hope of people trying to stop this gang violence and actually trying for the next generation to help the community stop this gang violence.
